We all played board games as kids before the internet era stole all the glam. And it has been a wild ride, but those board games still hold a special place in our hearts. Here is a list of board games that will make you relive your childhood glories in the world of shining glass gadgets. If you have been around since the pre-internet era, you will be glad to see some of your childhood friends who improved the rainy days.
Lego
Every kid remembers Lego and the horrifying pain it brought when we accidentally stepped on a piece. But it was one of the best games of all time.
It unleashed our creativity and kept us hooked for hours. It is a game that is even relevant today and is still just as famous. The movies have further added to their fame, and the Lego games will never go out of style for people like us. For us, it just levels up.
Do you remember the first cool thing you built with Lego? Well, I do! As is the case with many others, a house with a roof, windows, and doors was obviously my first creation.
I did enjoy playing with them, but I did not build anything cooler we all know there are some really creative children and sometimes their supportive parents too, who create something amazing.
I have seen people on the internet building cute little cars to huge military tanks and monster trucks.
You can also see people building big palaces, cities and also dinosaurs.
The things you can do with legos are limitless. It is all about the joy of creating! I wonder if God felt the same way when he first created this world!
Monopoly
Who doesn’t remember the classic money trading game? You had to be the richest person at the end to win. No joke, the monopoly money gave us a sense of being powerful and wealthy in those days.
It was a great game to play at night with your cousins. If you are in the nineties or two thousand babies, you will relate to this well enough.
The monopoly is not just a fun game but a significant financial attitude course.
It is a game that sharpens our wit and puts us right into the virtual world with real problems. The more you play monopoly, the better equipped you to deal with the different money scenarios that touch our lives.

Chess
Chess was one of those games which required great skill and presence of mind. Honestly, you can play chess anytime, regardless of your age; it is a game meant for everyone.
It used to be a great mental exercise. If you played chess, you would know the patience level needed. And how if you were losing, you would rather prefer to flip the board than to admit defeat.
Initially, I considered this game boring and hard, so I avoided it at all costs.
But thanks to one of my good friends living in my neighborhood, who persistently asked me to play this game, saying I would love it.
And then, he explained to me the basic rules and offered to play a few mock games. After this, I quickly concluded that it was one of the best games ever.
Every game step made me think hard and far into the future. My brain loved imagining all their consequences, permutations, and combinations before a specific move.
I also started admiring the intelligence of my opponent players when they tried to outwit my move and vice versa.
And what a joy it is to say the magical word – “Checkmate!”
But the only downside to this game was sometimes our one match would last for hours, which would bother my parents, who expected me to return to my studies in 1-2 hours, but our games lasted way beyond that.
Though I never played this game professionally, I had a friend in my college who became so good at chess that he started traveling worldwide to compete in various competitions. He even won one international-level chess competition in Sri Lanka.
So that is one of the added advantages of playing chess that you can pursue it professionally and make a name on the world level.
My fun childhood chess memories are enough to thank this game! Also, the skill I learned to think far ahead into the future before taking any decision can be partially attributed to chess!

Snakes & Ladders
Snakes and ladders are a game that everyone plays all around the world. And everyone remembers that terrible snake near the end which threw you at the starting line (or close to the start of the game).
Everyone knows how annoying that used to be. Everyone would fight over the color of the playing piece they wanted and which color was lucky for them. Those were the days, and those were the games.
I owned several sets of snakes and ladders. I remember playing on the smaller boards and playing with larger boards. Even though overall, the board structure was the same in all cases, the feeling and the fun I had were different in each case.
I mostly played with one dice but sometimes also played with two dice. Yes! Double the challenge to get the desired numbers.
Getting a six on the dice is the ultimate aim of every participant, and the joy when that happens is immense. But there used to be a greater joy on your friends’ faces when you would get a six on the dice, but you would go straight into the snake’s mouth, mainly when you are in the final row of the game just near the home or victory place.
Overall, it was a game based on luck, and sometimes it was just what you needed to prove to the world that you indeed are a lucky person as you reach the destination mark first, again and again, and again!

Hero Quest
Hero Quest was one of the first role-playing games I ever played. It was a game that would take me away to my own land of fantasy. One of the best things about this was the miniatures.
The board, the cards, the quest book, the combat dice, everything about this game was just epic. It was a gateway to the great dungeons and dragons for me, and it was one of the most magnificent games I ever played.
Hero quest is worth checking out; if you have young cousins, you should recommend them this one, even in this fast and advanced internet age.
You can buy Hero Quest on Amazon.com here.
Crossfire
Crossfire was one of the coolest board games with one of the coolest advertisements ever.
Basically, we were just supposed to aggressively shoot tiny metal balls from both sides of the board to shoot at goal pieces to make a goal, so, you know, REAL fun!
You should definitely get this one; it is a game everyone should own, regardless of how old they are.
You can buy Crossfire on Amazon.com here.
Ludo
If you don’t know what Ludo is, I have no idea what to tell you. Ludo’s days were simple and peaceful, and the game taught us the art of flipping the board when we were losing and slightly moving our pieces ahead when no one was looking.
It was not just a board game; it was a feeling. Unlike the Snakes and Ladders game, where we had to take one piece to the destination, we had to take four pieces. So four times the challenge, four times the fun, four times the teasing among friends! Isn’t it?

All these games made our childhood better and, in many ways, gave us the happiness that the pleasures of this modern world never could. But it seems like we are finally grown up, and looking back at those years seems so far away. But they carry that nostalgic feeling that still makes our hearts wonder with awe.
Here’s a suggestion, get these games over a weekend and invite your friends over, in honor of the good old days. It will be an evening worth remembering. Don’t forget to celebrate your life, people. Life is a gift, and so are you.

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog.
It’s simple, effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance”
between usability and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a fantastic job with this. In addition, the blog loads super quick. Exceptional Blog!

Cool list! I played all these board games. And even now we often get together with friends, arrange an evening of games.
I don’t really like chess, because only 2 people play here, and the rest of the games can be played by a large company. Recently, we discovered Munchkin.
And in addition, we also made 3D figures ourselves. We use them on all board games. It turns out very cool when your small copy in 3D is on the playing field. If anyone is interested, we took on this site. ‘3dgeneration dot com’ Especially since they now have a promotion. 21% discount
The figures were printed very high quality, I have a 3D sculpture on the table.
Thanks again for transferring me to childhood with this post.

We have a solid month and half left to enjoy all that summer has to offer. What are you waiting for? Pull out your old favorite board game, grab a set of watercolors, or head to your nearest pool for the day. Soak up summer exactly like you did when you were a kid.
